The correct position behind the wheel is having your hands on the wheel with your elbows slightly bent. Also remember to fasten your seat belt.

Tackle the entrance of curves by decelerating and then progressively advancing the gas pedal in the same time you are exiting the curve.

Always adjust your speed to the real conditions of the road, and not to your desire or moods.

Go particularly slow in habited centres: even 50km/hr can be too much.

| 5 |
Accustom yourself to seeing further and further away as the speed increases, and learn to mentally calculate the necessary time for stopping at different speeds.

Always remain concentrated when driving. In a moment of distraction, you can cover many and many metres.

Before overtaking another vehicle, don’t get so close as if you are “glued” to the vehicle that precedes you. This is one of the worst things you can do. It’s best to leave a certain distance, and accelerate in advance. The correct way to pass another car is with a “run-up” at a higher speed while reducing your time in the other lane. This is known as the “elastic/rubber band effect”.

Alcohol and drugs reduce your lateral vision and elongate your reaction time.

The use of the mobile/cellular phone disturbs your concentration as well as makes it difficult to have a proper control of the wheel.

Don’t allow the other passengers to condition your driving. If you want to “show off”, renounce doing so or use the appropriate areas.
